How to use it

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I start numbering from a number other than 1?
Yes. Set "Start numbering at" to any value — useful when the document continues from an earlier volume, or when a printed cover is counted separately.
How does "Skip the first page" interact with the starting number?
The first page is left completely unmarked, and your starting number is placed on page 2. So with the default settings, a cover stays clean and the page after it is numbered 1.
What happens on pages that are rotated or a different size?
The number is placed correctly on each one. We read every page's own rotation and visible area, so a landscape scan in the middle of a portrait document still gets its number the right way up, in the corner you chose.
Can I add page numbers in Arabic-Indic digits, or with an Arabic label?
Not yet. The standard PDF fonts we use cover Latin characters and Western digits only, so we keep the output to 1, 2, 3. Adding Arabic text to a PDF correctly needs font embedding plus proper letter shaping, which we would rather build well than half-build.
